Politicians get Ksh.100K in every Parliamentary meeting at State House - MP Kaguchia
Mukurweini Member of Parliament (MP) John Kaguchia has alleged that politicians are always awarded Ksh.100,000 whenever they attend Parliamentary Group meetings in State House.
According to the legislator, politicians have warmed up to the House on the Hill to rake in more funds for personal advancement, accusing the Executive of influencing the political leadership through unjustified tokenism.
“Political leadership has been captured by the executive, and most of them are now looking at how much money they are getting as individuals. Once you see a political leader going to State House, they get alot of benefits,” he told Citizen TV on Monday.
“Every meeting you attend in State House, you are paid. When you go for a PG you get Ksh.100,000. The first time I didn’t take the money but sooner than later I stopped going there.”

He further claimed that the political leaders are only interested in forging alliances ahead of the 2027 elections, at the expense of neglecting citizens in dire need of a working service delivery system.
Since becoming the ruling party after the 2022 elections, the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has held a series of PG meetings.
In 2023, some of the meetings were held on April 11, May 23 and November 7.
In February 2024, a joint retreat and meeting that brought together President William Ruto’s cabinet and the parliamentary group (Senators and MPs) in Naivasha.
Another one was held on June 18, after deadly anti-government protests on June 25, where “significant” changes were made to the much-contested Finance Bill 2024, highlighting the demands of Kenyans and other stakeholders.
In August 2025, the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) had a joint PG meeting with UDA at State House to review progress made in implementing the 10-point Agenda and the recommendations of the National Dialogue Committee (NADCO) report signed in March 2025 between President Ruto and ODM’s founder, the late Raila Odinga.
