The victim’s brother, John Wachira, reported that a pair of shoes was left along the road, indicating the perpetrator’s attempt to conceal the crime.

The deceased’s husband, Simon Njiru, demands justice for his wife’s murder and alleged rape. The couple has suffered marital issues, having separated in October 2025.

“Whoever killed and raped my wife must be arrested and prosecuted,” he said.

The incident has shocked the villagers with locals expressing outrage and disbelief. 

“She is the most joyous and  trusted woman in this village why have they killed her,” her cousin Lewis Murage said.

“I want to see Wambui we were with her in Baricho shipping centre, we are demanding for justice,” the deceased friend noted.

Police from Baricho police station are investigating, having moved the body to Kibugi funeral home for postmortem.

The community is in an uproar, with many demanding answers and justice for the deceased.
