The Public Service Commission (PSC) has announced 1,000 internship vacancies in the Ministry of Education’s State Department for Basic Education under the Digital Literacy Programme (DLP) Cohort 4. 

According to PSC, the nationwide initiative aims to enhance digital learning in primary schools while providing practical ICT experience to recent graduates. 

The PSC revealed that successful candidates will be posted to schools at the Sub-County level, with the internship focusing on virtual learning support and digital education initiatives.

To qualify, applicants must have graduated not earlier than 2020. 

They should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Education with a specialization in ICT, or a Bachelor’s degree in ICT, or a Diploma in ICT or ICT Integration in Education from a recognized institution. 

Candidates must also be skilled in networking, infrastructure, application development, cybersecurity, and project management. 

Additionally, they should be capable of integrating ICT into education for e-learning and content development, demonstrate readiness for innovation and digital learning research, and be willing to work full-time at any Sub-County Education Office.

Interns will play a key role in supporting e-learning content development and implementation, training teachers on digital tools and platforms, and driving innovations in digital learning in schools. 

They will also be responsible for maintaining ICT infrastructure and services in educational institutions and enhancing safe and ethical technology use in learning.

The internship will run for 12 months on a non-renewable basis. 

Interns will receive a government-determined stipend and will be awarded a certificate upon successful completion of the program.

Interested candidates must apply online through the Public Service Commission’s portals at www.publicservice.go.ke, www.psckjobs.go.ke or www.pscims.publicservice.go.ke/jobs by June 23, 2025.

The PSC encouraged all eligible Kenyans to apply.
