Public Service Commission warns Kenyans of fraudsters posing as PSC staff

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has warned members of the public against fraudsters who are impersonating PSC staff

The Public Service Commission (PSC) has warned members of the public against fraudsters who are impersonating PSC staff.

In a statement on Sunday, February 23, PSC said the fraudsters soliciting money from unsuspecting Kenyans in exchange for services. 

The commission noted that it does not charge any money for job opportunities, shortlisting, promotions, and other services.

“Beware of fraudsters posing as PSC staff and soliciting money in exchange for our services. PSC Does not charge to offer service i.e shortlisting, job opportunities, promotions or appeals,” read the statement in part.

PSC called on Kenyans to report suspicious activities to relevant authorities or to the commission immediately.

Further, the commission urged Kenyans to verify information via its call center and official email.

Recently, there has been a surge in job scams, taking advantage of the growing number of unemployed young people in the country.

Fraudsters have been targeting government agencies and major companies in Kenya, including Kenya Airways (KQ) and Kenya Railways Corporation.

Kenya Railways on February 19 warned Kenyans about fraudulent job advertisements circulating on various online platforms.

Kenya Railways emphasized that all legitimate job vacancies are only advertised on the corporation’s official website (www.krc.co.ke), the MYGOV Newspaper, and verified social media channels.
