Raila campaigns in Samburu, scoffs Ruto’s pledge to fight corruption
Raila campaigns in Samburu while her running Mate took Azimio gospel to Laikipia County where she received UDA defectors.
Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Alliance presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Wednesday, 22, June took his campaign to Samburu county.
The former Prime minister is seeking to strengthen his grip in the pastoral community’s vote basket.
His running mate Martha Karua was in Laikipia County as she roots for Raila Odinga’s candidature.
Karua pitched tent in Nanyuki where she received a number of UDA Defectors to Azimio Team
She was accompanied by Governor Ndiritu Muriithi and Maina Njenga among other leaders.
Meanwhile, On Tuesday, 21, Raila campaigned in Isiolo county he scoffed at William Ruto’s pledge to fight Corruption.
Raila dismissed Deputy President William Ruto’s promise refering him as “Mr. Corruption”; “Yeye ndio bwana ufisadi”
“He has promised to deal with corruption. How will he tackle corruption while he’s corrupt,” Raila posed.
Raila further questioned the source of Ruto’s wealth that he’s able to contribute at least KSh 100,000,000 in a month while on a KSh 2,000,000 salary.
He claimed the DP steals from public funds before giving them out to Kenyans through handouts and harambee.
“He steals public funds then comes to donate during harambees. In a month he spends one hundred million on harambees while his salary is two million shillings. Even Safaricom can not spend like that,” Raila said.
