Raila Junior reacts to arrest of Blogger Aoko Otieno, known for scorning Odinga family

Raila Odinga Junior has joined the band of Kenyans demanding the release of blogger Aoko Otieno who was apprehended on Friday
Raila Odinga Junior has joined the band of Kenyans demanding the release of blogger Aoko Otieno who was apprehended on Friday morning, August 16.
According to reports, Aoko Otieno was detained at the Muthaiga Police Station with no known charges.
A tweet sent via her X account claimed she had been denied access to her lawyers.
“This is Aoko’s Aide. She was arrested this morning & has been detained. They have also denied her legal counsel,” the tweet read.
Reacting to the events, Junior, Raila Odinga’s son, said it was irrational to have the blogger detained for alleged slander.
According to him, Aoko, who is on record scorning the Odinga family, was at liberty to express herself, regardless of the contents.
“People should be free to post whatever nonsense they want #FreeAoko,” he tweeted.

Embakasi East MP Babu Owino accused the state of detaining the blogger for long with negligible charges and denying her bail.
“I went to see Aoko Otieno today at the DCI headquarters. The charge on her is vexatious, frivolous, fickle and limping. The Dci is on a fishing expedition.#FreeAoko She’s being held at Muthaiga Police Station, and they have refused to admit her on bail, which is her constitutional right,” said Babu.
Several quarters attributed Aoko’s woes to her alleged postings against eminent people.
The blogger is known to use her X account to express her thoughts, which many have found to border with supposed slander.
