Rigathi Gachagua promises to recover his frozen money if Kenya Kwanza takes over the government after the August polls.

Ruto’s running mate Rigathi Gachagua has said he will recover his frozen money once they win the presidency in the August polls.

Speaking in Mathira on Tuesday, 28, June during the political meeting, Gachagua said he will use the money to build a nice fancy house.

He added that the new home will have a nyama choma base for men, while the women who will visit his wife, will be given porridge.

“You know this government froze my account. When we take power, I will take my money back and I will come and build a home here in Kieni so that you can come to visit me. I will build a nice house and also a nice place where men can grill meat and also drink what we drink as we talk,” Gachagua said.

“For the women, we will have a nice place for them where they will be coming to visit his wife as they drink porridge while singing and dancing.”

Gachugua has been under investigation for claims of colluding with Nyeri county officials and the state department of Irrigation through his companies and close associates to receive money suspected to be proceeds of crime.

In May 2020, his personal accounts were frozen on suspicions of money laundering at Rafiki Microfinance Bank.
