Roots party running mate Justina Wamae denied access to Wajackoyah’s offices amid an ugly public spat between the two.

The ugly spat between Roots party leader George Wajackoya and his running mate Justina Wamae turned worse on Friday, 26 after a planned meeting degenerated into a standoff.

The meeting was intended to be a disciplinary hearing for Wamae, whose relationship with Wajackoyah had soured ever since the general elections on August 9.

Justina Wamae was invited to show cause why she should not be expelled from the outfit, after allegedly speaking out of turn with its leadership in recent weeks.

However, Roots party running mate Justina Wamae denied access to Wajackoyah’s offices located at Cara House Karen.

Wamae arrived at the offices accompanied by her armed guards and several supporters.

According to Wajackoyah, Wamae was not supposed to be accompanied by anybody and armed police officers at Cara House Karen offices were instructed to bar any extra person.

Wamae however, demanded to be let into the premises with at least six supporters and in the presence of media cameras in the room.

Addressing the press, Wamae said she was not aware of the agenda of the disciplinary gathering.

“I have shown up as a law-abiding citizen,” she said.

“Have been called to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee. I’m yet to know my offences. I have just responded.”

Wamae stated that before attending the meeting, she had checked with the Karen police station to let them know so that if anything bad were to happen, legal action would be done.

The pair have been exchanging insults on social media, blaming each other for the party’s dismal performance in the final polls.

While Wajacjakoyah has claimed that Wamae had grown sympathetic to Deputy President William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza, the latter has alleged that the former was an Azimio mole.

Wajackoyah had even claimed that it was his effort that pushed their campaigns and that he had allegedly given accommodation to his running mate.

Wamae, however, claimed that the Azimio coalition was in charge of funding their lavish manifesto unveiling.
