Ruto disputes Infotrak Poll, calls it manufactured polls to favour former Prime Minister Raila Odinga’s presidential bid.

Deputy President William Ruto has disputed the latest opinion poll by Infotrak showing he’s losing to Raila Odinga.

On 8, June, Infotrak released an opinion poll that showed Ruto’s popularity had dipped, and was trailing Raila Odinga by 4 percent.

The Azimio candidate Raila Odinga led at 42 percent and the DP William Ruto at 38 percent.

The poll also showed that Raila was leading in a majority of the counties including those in North Eastern where the DP held rallies.

Other places the former Prime Minister was ahead included those in Nyanza, Western, and Nairobi.

Ambitho, in her explanation, noted that Ruto’s popularity, which dropped from 42 percent in May, noted that the deviation was partly attributed to the selection of running mates by the two presidential candidates.

Against a predicted voter turnout of 95 percent, the pollster predicted that the Azimo flagbearer would garner 9.3 million votes in the August 9 election.

The former Prime Minister would secure more than 25 percent of votes from 37 counties, surpassing the required threshold for a presidential candidate to be declared the winner.

Ruto disputes Infotrak Poll

Speaking during a tour of North Eastern Counties including Mandera on Wednesday, June 9, Ruto accused Infotrak polls of cooking up numbers to favour Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga.

Ruto also claimed that his team, Kenya Kwanza, has maintained its popularity and that he is confident that he will win the two-horse race without a runoff.

“Because they are stuck, their system is stuck, deep state and their manifesto are also stuck, they have gone to manufacture opinion polls to show them the way.

“I want to tell Kenyans that we have defeated these people in every way. We have beaten them with our plan and manifesto. We shall win in the morning on August 9,” he explained.
