MP Farah Maalim now claims that President Ruto has performed better than all other Kenyan Presidents

Dadaab Member of Parliament Farah Maalim has strongly defended President William Ruto’s performance record.

In a statement on Sunday, August 25, the former National Assembly deputy speaker said Ruto had performed better than any other president in his first two years in office.

Maalim lauded Ruto for stabilizing the Kenyan shilling despite the anti-government demonstrations.

“President William Ruto has performed better than any other President before him in the first two years of office. The Kenya shilling gained massively against all other convertible currencies & continues to get stronger in the midst of all those protests. He has borrowed from WB & IMF to retire debilitating Chinese loans & Eurobond borrowed by his predecessor. Both Nigerian & Bangladesh currencies lost big time after protests,” Maalim said.

Farah Maalim asks Kenyans to give Ruto time Maalim urged Kenyans to give Ruto space to execute his ideas on improving the country’s economy, arguing that the president has already managed to tame wastage in government.

“Ruto reduced government spending to tame wastage beginning with his & the First Lady’s offices. Record numbers of Kenyans have found employment outside the country.

The coffee and tea sectors are picking up tremendously. The sugar sector is equally cruising towards self sufficiency. Let’s give Ruto space to perform,” he said.

The Dadaab lawmaker wondered why Kenyans never staged demonstrations during former president Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime when the economy was allegedly doing badly.

“One wonders why, under Uhuru, Kenyans didn’t raise the issues they are raising now & protest. To be fair the economy is today doing better than it did 3 years back,” he stated.
