President William Ruto has invited members of the Nairobi County Assembly to a cocktail party at State House, Nairobi, this evening.
President William Ruto has invited members of the Nairobi County Assembly to a cocktail party at State House, Nairobi, this evening.
In a communication delivered on the floor of the county assembly by the Nairobi County Assembly Speaker, Kennedy Okeyo Ng’ondi, Ruto invited the MCAs to the State House after delivering a special address at the assembly.
The speaker said the invitation was extended wholeheartedly on the President’s instructions and asked MCAs to attend the event at the rise of the house.
“I would love to extend, as instructed by his excellency, the gesture wholeheartedly to host you members for a cocktail party at the State House at the rise of the assembly,” the speaker stated, drawing cheers from the members.
Following the invite, members were advised to wear their identification tags for easy recognition during the gathering.
“Kindly make sure you wear your tags for easy identification,” he added as the house was adjourned.
The event is seen as a gesture of goodwill aimed at strengthening engagement between the Head of State and county representatives outside the formal legislative setting.

Earlier during his address to the MCAs, President Ruto got a warm reception where the members chanted pro-government slogans often between his speech.
The MCAs were chanting ‘Tutam’ and ‘Singapore’, slogans that Ruto often uses in his campaigns.
‘Tutam’ simply refers to two terms, to mean his re-election bid for the second term in 2027, while ‘Singapore’ is Ruto’s Singapore dream to take Kenya from a third-world country to a first-world economy, just like Singapore did.
President Ruto made history by becoming the first Head of State to formally address a county assembly, 16 years after the advent of devolution in Kenya.
During his address, Ruto gave updates on the cooperation between the national and county governments, stating that the corporation is the only better way to run the capital city.
He also gave a shocking revelation, stating that parts of the State House were going to be demolished in the coming weeks after it was found to be built on riparian land.
