Ruto loses significant support to Raila Odinga in the Ukambani region according to the latest InfoTrak opinion polls.
According to the latest opinion polls released on Thursday, July 28, by Infotrak, William Ruto, has lost significant support in Ukambani to Raila Odinga, with 11 days to the general elections.
The poll showed that Ruto lost 3 percent in Kitui, 8 percent in Machakos, and 5 percent in Makueni in the month of July.
According to InfoTrak, in early July, Ruto had a 29 percent popularity rating in Machakos county, 24 percent in Kitui, and 21 percent in Makueni.
However, Ruto has now a popularity rating of 21 percent, in both Machakos and Kitui; and 16 percent in Makueni County.
Ruto loses support to Raila
Meanwhile, his main challenger in August polls Raila Odinga gained 2 percent in Kitui County; from 55 percent to 57 percent over the same period.
In Machakos County, Raila gained 11 percent; from 51 percent to 62 percent.
Raila also gained 11 percent popularity ratings from 57 percent during the same duration to 68 percent in Makueni County.

Machakos County
Wavinya Ndeti is leading in the Machakos gubernatorial race with a popularity rating of 46 percent.
Her closest challenger, Nzioka Waita comes second with an approval of 25 percent while UDA chairman Johnson Muthama comes third with 9 percent.
In the senatorial race, Agnes Kavindu leads with 24 percent followed by Urbanus Ngengele with an approval of 10 percent.
Makueni County
Senator Mutula Kilonzo Junior leads the governorship race with an approval rating of 63 percent while Patrick Musimba has 18 percent.
Makueni MP Dan Maanzo leads outgoing Governor Kivutha Kibwana in the senatorial race by 38 percent against 16 percent.
Kitui County
Former Kitui Governor Julius Malombe leads in the gubernatorial race with 61 percent followed by David Musila at 13 percent while UDA’s Jonathan Mueke trails at 2 percent.
