Currently stationed at the Kyumbi Police Station, Police Constable Hiram Kimathi vowed not to move to Todonyang on the Kenya-Ethiopia border after the transfer was sanctioned by the Kenya Police Service.
He linked the transfer to his recent criticism of the government on the conduct of the police.
Kimathi was particularly critical of Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen following his alleged “shoot to kill” command to the police.
Hence, the transfer was aimed at punishing him for his apparent dissent.
Via his TikTok account, the officer defied the transfer, asking the CS to consider taking his kin there.
He didn’t mind being sacked.
“To CS Kipchumba Murkomen, take your children to Todonyang. I am saying this without fearing anything. DIG Lagat should take his children to Todonyang, same with the Athi River OCPD. You have come across a guy who knows where his heart is. I am a man with a mission,” he said.

The officer said that he anticipated such drastic action as his transfer to war-prone areas to serve as a punishment for his stance against police brutality.
He declared that he would strive to put the interests of the civilians before any nefarious scheme of the police.
“My allegiance is with the people of Kenya, for they have all powers to vote in and out every government. They have paid me for all those years in service to serve them, not to kill them. Afande Hiram loves you cousins, sisters, brothers na pia mashemeji,” he said.
He vowed not to use his position to cause repression of the unarmed members of the public.
Kimathi committed himself to defending those in his jurisdiction as an officer of law.
“This uniform belongs to Kenyans, and the rifle I am hosting was bought by your money, and the person in that uniform is a Kenyan … if you kill one of us, then we all raise up and defend ourselves, for we are one nation… # say no to political misuse,” he added.
