Sakaja’s degree controversy continues as alleged classmates deny knowing him

Sakaja’s degree controversy continues as alleged classmates from Team University in Uganda deny knowing him.

A Ugandan publication, New Vision, has interviewed a former student of Team University who was in the Class of 2016.

2016 is the same Nairobi senator and UDA gubernatorial candidate for Nairobi is alledging to have graduated from Team University.

However, the student denied ever seeing Sakaja or hearing about the him.

The student claimed that they were only six in their class and the Senator was not one of them.

He further refuted claims that Sakaja studied online via the Distance Learning Program saying the University had not established the program then.

“We didn’t have online studies at the time and when we graduated on October 21, 2016, we were only six students. I know them because we are classmates,” noted the student.

Sakaja is alledging to have graduated from the Team university in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Management (External).

Meanwhile, the Uganda’s National Council of Higher Education (NCHE) has opened investigations over authenticity of the Sakaja’s degree.

The Council told the press that the investigations are at an advanced stage and they will make their findings public.

The Commission’s Executive Director Prof. Mary Okwakol assured journalists that they would share a complete report soon since the probe was at an advanced stage.

“Let us finalize our investigations and everyone will know. We cannot share anything now until the investigations are complete,” Prof Okwakol stated.
