Mugithi artist and police officer Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh has shared a cryptic post following reports that he is being transferred to Baringo.
In a social media update on Thursday, May 29, Samidoh shared a photo of himself standing beside a UK police vehicle, dressed in a tracksuit.
“When injustice becomes law, resistance becomes duty, Thomas Jefferson,” Samidoh captioned the post.
The update comes after the Inspector General of Police, Douglas Kanja, stated in a press briefing that police officers are transferred following established regulations.
The IG was responding to questions by journalists on Wednesday, May 28, who were seeking clarity on reports of Samidoh being transferred.
Although he was hesitant to confirm the transfer, Kanja stated that the regulations governing the service were followed in the case of a transfer.

“Police officers are civil servants and are subject to regulations and procedures, including transfers. If the officer you have mentioned is one of us, then he is subject to those conditions.
“Therefore, he may have been redeployed or transferred to the area he is currently in,” Kanja stated.
Samidoh’s troubles began on May 16 after a video of him in a live performance went viral on social media, in which revelers were chanting ‘wantam’, a phrase used by opposition leaders in campaigning against the re-election of President William Ruto.
Reports indicate that the police officer was transferred from the central region police headquarters to the Administration Police’s Anti-Stock Theft Unit (ASTU) in Gilgil as part of disciplinary action.
It was also claimed that Samidoh would be reassigned to Baringo from his current station in Gilgil.
