School bus ferrying children overturns along Mombasa Road

A Nova Pioneer school bus on Tuesday, March 25 morning overturned in the Sabaki area along the Nairobi-Mombasa highway.

The accident occurred at around 7: 30 AM as the bus was heading towards the Mombasa general direction.

The school bus was ferrying children to school when it was involved in the morning accident.

All the children survived the accident however some sustained some injuries and were rushed to various hospitals within Athi River.

Photos and videos of the accident showed the bus overturned to the right side with one of the windshields broken.

The school bus was towed to the Athi River police station as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, two people lost their lives on Tuesday morning after being involved in a tragic road accident at Sobea, Nakuru County.

The accident happened after a 14-seater matatu rammed into the rear of a cargo truck.

Confirming the incident, disaster response officer Rachael Maru said the matatu, belonging to Ena Coach, collided with the truck resulting in the fatal crash.

Eight passengers sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Nakuru Provincial Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Emergency response teams arrived at the scene promptly to assist the injured and clear the wreckage.

The authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
