“Shameful, Kenyans Know You” EACC responds to Waiguru
EACC responds to Waiguru after crying foul that she’s being targeted after joining Deputy President William Ruto.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has hit out at Kirinyaga governor Anne Waiguru over claims that it is targeting her after joining Ruto.
Waiguru was among the list of 241 political aspirants EACC forwarded IEBC over integrity issues.
However, Waiguru cried foul on her Twitter post after appearing on the list alleging that it was political persecution.
She stated that constitutional safeguards separating investigations, prosecution, and adjudication had protected them from EACC, who were receiving orders from higher officers.
“Were it not for constitutional safeguards that separate investigations, prosecution, and adjudication, EACC on behalf of their Harambee House masters would have hanged some of us for moving to UDA on the basis of rumour, frivolous allegations, and cooked stories without the need of a trial,” Waiguru wrote.

In a quick reply, EACC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Twalib Mbarak did not mince his words on Waiguru saying her utterances were shameful.
He added that Kenyans knew her social standing on integrity issues.
“Governor Anne Waiguru’s comments are extremely shameful, as Kenyans know her well including her social standing on integrity,” he said.
Waiguru is accused of abusing her office by receiving irregular payments of travel allowance amounting to KSh 10, 634, 614 for nonexistent or personal trips.
She is also on the list of famous NYS Scandal (National Youth Service) when she was devolution CS in the first term of the Jubilee government.
