Man defiles her 10-year-old daughter in a Kakamega hospital bed after requesting to be with her overnight.
A man has been detained by police in Kakamega County on allegations of defiling his 10-year-old daughter in a hospital bed.
According to reports, the suspect, a 40-year-old, requested a hospital nurse to spend the night in the ward with the girl who had malaria at Navakholo Sub-County Hospital.
A nurse was informed by a woman who was a hospital patient and who had seen the suspect defiling his daughter in the middle of the night.
Despite the girl’s recovery, it was claimed that her father was unable to settle the hospital bill.
According to Navakholo Sub-County Police Commander Richard Omanga, the suspect left after finding out that the incident had been reported to hospital authorities.
“After receiving the report, our officers went to the hospital to investigate the incident and found that the girl had been defiled,” Mr. Omanga said.
“The man went home to look for money and came back late in the evening without the money. He then requested to be allowed to spend the night in the ward until the next morning but ended up defiling the daughter.”
The man had separated from his wife and was living with his daughter.
“We will have him arraigned after finalizing the investigations,” Mr. Omanga said.
