Man kills 3-year-old son after quarrel with his wife, dumps him in a thicket at Pap-Kado area.

A 3-year-old boy was found dead in Wich-Lum area, Siaya County on Saturday evening.

The toddler is suspected to have been murdered by his father following a domestic squabble.  

The body of the child, who has been identified as Ian Odeny, was found in the thickets at Pap-Kado area after his 42-year-old father, Kennedy Omondi, allegedly disappeared with him after a domestic wrangle with his wife on Friday night.

According to the Assistant Chief of Nyaguda sub-location Edwin Juma, the father, who is a fisherman at Wich-Lum beach had a difference with his wife Lilian Anyango and a fight ensued before he disappeared with the child.

The administrator stated that the body of the child was later found in the thickets the following day, a reason for which the fisherman is suspected to have killed the child before dumping his body in the thickets.

Juma stated that the police visited the scene and moved the body to Bondo sub-county hospital mortuary for preservation, awaiting postmortem, as a search began for the fisherman who went missing since Friday evening. 

The administrator said that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has already launched investigations into the matter.
