Peter Salasya now claims that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is being strategically positioned ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Mumias East Member of Parliament Peter Salasya now claims that Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Secretary General Edwin Sifuna is being strategically positioned ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Taking to his X account on Wednesday, July 30, Salasya alleged that Sifuna is part of a well-calculated plan by President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga to infiltrate the Gen Zs.

“Edwin Sifuna’s double-speak is not by accident; it’s by design. He is a political decoy, strategically positioned by both Raila and Ruto to infiltrate and confuse the Gen Z electorate. Why? Because they know we have rejected their outdated politics,” Salasya alleged.

The Mumias East lawmaker also claimed that Senator Sifuna is being groomed for a higher role in the 2027 election.

Salasya alleged that the Nairobi Senator may be President Ruto’s running mate in the election.

“Now, they are repackaging the same failed system through Sifuna. Make no mistake, he is being groomed for a higher role in 2027, possibly as Ruto’s DP. It’s a high-level con. Don’t buy their narrative.

“Stay alert. These are seasoned political manipulators trying to sell you recycled power in a new wrapper,” Salasya added.

Senator Sifuna has been a vocal critic of the broad-based government and the MoU between ODM and UDA.

Speaking on Tuesday, July 22, Sifuna said removing President Ruto from office is a national priority agenda.

The ODM Secretary General argued that the Ruto administration has failed to respect the constitution and human rights.

“I hear Ruto has succeeded in bullying the people in opposition. He says they don’t have any agenda. I want William Ruto to know that his removal from office is a national priority agenda; it is the only agenda because his government is totally opposed to what the Constitution stands for,” Sifuna stated.

However, on Tuesday, July 29, following an ODM Central Committee meeting, Sifuna announced that the party supports Raila’s decision to work with the Kenya Kwanza government.

“The party supports the position of Party Leader Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga to work with the Kenya Kwanza administration to stabilize the country and create an enabling environment for Kenyans to address their concerns through democratic and constitutional means,” said Sifuna.
