Slain IEBC official, Daniel Musyoka was using a second secret phone on the fateful day he was murdered, investigations have revealed.
Investigations into the murder of Embakasi East returning officer Daniel Musyoka have revealed he was using a second secret phone on the fateful day.
A friend who lived with him revealed that he borrowed his phone to call his driver, who doubled up as his bodyguard on August 11.
The slain IEBC official had reportedly left his mobile phone in a drawer at his office.
However, it was unclear why he did not move around with it.
On the day he was murdered, Musyoka is said to have excused himself and told his bodyguard that he was going to make a phone call.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations is seeking to establish the mobile number he used on the day he was kidnapped.
Musyoka was found dead in Loitoktok a few days after he went missing.
As the probe continues, CCTV footage obtained by the police, showed his last moments on Thursday, August 11, the day he disappeared.
Slain IEBC official Daniel Musyoka was captured moving in and out of the constituency’s tallying centre at the East Africa School of Aviation.
Shortly after leaving, he was captured on CCTV meeting some men who handed him an envelope before disappearing.
Musyoka was then seen entering another vehicle that was at the tallying centre.
Investigations established that he had packed his belongings at his Nairobi residence and left all the IEBC kits at the tallying centre.
Musyoka was about to announce the results of the member of the National Assembly and ward representatives races.
