Spilling the beans? IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya says a foreigner, and 3 IEBC staff intercepted Form 34As

IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya says in his response that a foreigner and 3 IEBC staff intercepted Form 34As and altered the results.

IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya, who is part of the 4 dissenting IEBC commissioners who disowned presidential elections results announced by the agency’s chairman Wafula Chebukati, filed his individual response to the petition challenging the results.

Nyang’aya revealed in his response that a foreigner and 3 IEBC staff members intercepted Form 34As in the electoral body’s portal and changed the results.

Commissioner Nyang’aya claimed that a foreigner identified as Gudino Omor and three IEBC staff interfered with the commission’s server and forms 34A, changing the results.

“That I am aware that a foreigner by the name Gudino Omor was able to access the commission’s server using user ID “O” and to pull down results that had been uploaded from the polling stations and later upload fresh results,” Nyang’aya stated in his response.

The commissioner additionally asserted that Omor had access to the server as of June 1, 2022, and had remained there until the announcement of the results.

Nyang’aya further asserts that it is simple to track the foreigner’s activity on the server, including his access times, active and inactive periods, and his log entries.

Additionally, he has identified three IEBC employees: Abdidahir Maalim, Moses Sunkuli, and Gideon Balang as the ones who gained access to the commission’s servers, downloaded certain results that had been uploaded, and then uploaded others.

“These are the same officers who were helping the second respondent to unilaterally process the results, that were subsequently declared by the second respondent,” the commissioner claimed.

IEBC Commissioner Justus Nyang’aya also revealed that there was evidence of the logs obtained from the agency’s server showing the IEBC staff interfering with data stored on the server.

He also revealed that changes had been made on Forms 34B after being previously pulled down and uploaded afresh.

In their petition, Azimio-One Kenya leaders Odinga and Karua claimed that forms 34A obtained at the polling stations were hijacked and altered before being uploaded to the IEBC portal.
