Elon Musk’s company, Starlink powered by SpaceX enters Kenya.
Starlink, a satellite internet provider founded by tech entrepreneur Elon Musk, declared plans to begin offering its services in Kenya in April.
On the company’s website, it was revealed that Kenyans may pay to reserve orders before the debut.
A Ksh12,241 deposit is required, per Starlink, to secure reservations for the services.
High internet speed is provided by Musk’s Starlink firm, which is run by SpaceX, for online gaming, streaming, and video conversations.
“Order now to reserve your Starlink. Starlink is targeting service in your area starting in Q2 2023. Availability is subject to regulatory approval.
“Within each coverage area, orders are fulfilled on a first-come, first-served basis,” read the statement in part.

During registration, one is required to provide details such as names, emails, and billing information such as a credit card.
The service is installed through an array antenna, a Wi-Fi router, cables, and a base provided.
“With Starlink, it’s a fair deal both ways. Starlink can adjust terms and pricing as needed, and customers can cancel at any time, for any reason.
“Try any Starlink service for 30 days and, if not satisfied, return the hardware for a full refund,” the company stated.
If granted, Kenya will be one of the first countries in Africa to have access to satellite internet. Nigeria and Mozambique are among the additional nations that will join.
Starlink charges Ksh5300 per month for internet access and Ksh74,280 for gear in Nigeria.
Starlink satellites were sent into orbit in May 2019 and are currently used in more than 30 nations worldwide.
Starlink and SpaceX are valued at Ksh10 trillion by international financial services provider Morgan Stanley Investment bank.
