A suspect linked to the gruesome murder of Willis Ayieko, a Human Resource Manager at Wells Fargo Company has been arrested.
The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday morning identified Victor Ouma Okoth as a main suspect in the heinous act.
Detectives reported that Ouma was flushed out of his hideout in Nairobi’s Dandora Phase IV on Monday night.
The suspect, who is now held at Muthaiga Police Station, is said to have rented a house using the proceeds of the crime.
“The suspect identified as Victor Ouma Okoth was flushed out of his hideout in Nairobi’s Dandora Phase IV last night, where he had rented a house using proceeds of the heinous crime,” DCI said in a statement.
“The suspect was placed at the scene of crime through forensic analysis, in the forensic-led investigation being conducted by a joint team of DCI’s Homicide, CRIB and Operations detectives,” the DCI stated.

Detectives also said that further investigations are ongoing to find Ouma’s accomplices.
Ayieko’s body was discovered on October 23, 2024, in the Mungowere stream in Yala, Siaya County, five days after he went missing following a burial vigil.
Eyewitnesses reported severe mutilation; his eyes were gouged out, his ears and nose were cut off, and his mouth was disfigured.
Ayieko had attended a funeral in Gem and was last seen leaving the event around 10 PM on October 18, 2024.
His abandoned vehicle was found nearby, with CCTV footage capturing two men discarding it at a petrol station.
