Ten Hag axes FIVE players from the first squad to make room for new signings

Ten Hag axes FIVE players from Manchester United’s first-team squad to make room for new signings.

Frenkie de Jong and Jurrien Timber are high on Ten Hag’s list of players he wants to acquire as he prepares to rebuild Man United.

However, the Dutch manager must whittle down his team in order to add new players.

Ahead of a likely summer clear-out, FIVE players have emerged.

Ten Hag axes FIVE players

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Axel Tuanzebe, and Brandon Williams have reportedly been informed that their futures are not with the club, according to claims from The Mirror.

The aforementioned defenders are deemed surplus to requirements ahead of the 2022/23 campaign.

Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who cost Man United £45 million in 2019, made 26 appearances in all competitions last season but lost his place in the team following Ralf Rangnick’s arrival.

Bailly only featured seven times for Man United last season in an injury-hit campaign.

Jones returned to action last season and played four league games after missing the entire 2020/21 term.

As for Tuanzebe and Williams, they enjoyed loan spells at Aston Villa/Napoli and Norwich City, respectively, last season.

That’s five defenders Ten Hag is thought to be looking to offload, with the 52-year-old reportedly eyeing the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Jurrien Timber.
