And Man United are growing increasingly confident to sign him, with ten Hag telling his former Ajax midfielder that ‘the whole game will revolve around him in Manchester.
Marca report United’s offer is €60million plus another €20m in add-ons which they are confident the La Liga club will accept.
Barcelona are under pressure to sell to alleviate some of their own financial pressure while offloading de Jong will wipe his annual €40million salary bill off the balance sheet.
United’s main obstacle has been convincing de Jong to swap the Camp Nou for Old Trafford, with the 25-year-old initially against leaving Barcelona.
