Thierry Henry picks four key Arsenal players amid title chase
Thierry Henry picks four key Arsenal players who have made a huge impact for the club amid the EPL title chase.
Arsenal have enjoyed a great start to the season and club icon Thierry Henry has picked out three players he believes have been key in Mikel Arteta’s side this season.
After eight games, the Gunners are now leading the Premier League, winning seven matches while losing only one.
The most recent triumph came against Tottenham in the North London Derby, as goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus, and Granit Xhaka handed their opponents their first loss.
With other teams also having a sluggish start to the season, it has caused many to ponder if they are in the running for the Premier League crown this season.
However, Arteta has avoided commenting on the subject, saying: “Sincerely, I’ll leave that [title talk] up to you folks. We’ve only just begun, and we’re thrilled with our progress so far. We comprehend that since emotion is involved, you are unable to manage it. We don’t look at what the table says because it says what it says.”
It’s still early days in the season but the momentum has been on Arsenal’s side.
Thierry Henry picks four key Arsenal players
Given their campaign so far, Henry has picked out three players that have been key to it, telling CBS Sports: “What I like with the Arsenal team right now is that it’s a different team. If you talk about something that’s important, it’s a different team.
“Gabriel Jesus is really changing, not only him. Saliba at the back allows them to play in a back four, so Mikel goes into what Pep does also with City with Zinchenko. Xhaka is playing way better. That’s what I was more impressed with than the result because that’s what happens all the time.”
Arsenal will be hopeful they can continue to rely on their outstanding stars so far, but as the fixture schedule continues to ramp up, they face the increasing likelihood of injuries and the need for rotation.
