Trust in the Lord on your journey! DP Gachagua leads church in song

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua led the ACK Diocese congregation in a song on Sunday
Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua led the ACK Diocese congregation in a song on Sunday.
Gachagua, recently impeached by MPs and awaiting a decision from the Senate, urged Kenyans to maintain peace regardless of the outcome of his case.
“Whatever happens, I ask for peace in Embu and all of Kenya. This is the only country we have. Let’s love each other and continue working together, as that is what truly matters,” Gachagua said.
Following his speech, he requested his songbook to find the lyrics for the hymn he wished to lead. Joined by a choir, local leaders, and his wife Dorcas Rigathi, the congregation enthusiastically sang along with the DP.
The ACK service doubles up as the celebration of 34 years since the establishment of the diocese.

Gachagua who is currently facing impeachment is scheduled to appear before the Senate this week for the trial. This is after the National Assembly voted to impeach him with a record 282 MPs supporting the motion.
He is facing 11 charges which include gross violation of the Constitution, promoting ethnic discrimination and undermining national unity through divisive public statements.
He is further accused of contradicting government policies and failing to uphold his duties as Deputy President, thus violating the principle of collective Cabinet responsibility.
