TSC announces nationwide 20,000 internship positions for both Junior Secondary and Primary Schools

TSC announces nationwide 20,000 internship positions for both Junior Secondary and Primary Schools.

On Wednesday, July 5, the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) announced 20,000 openings for intern teachers in junior secondary schools (18,000 vacancies) and primary schools (2,000 positions).

The interns will be split up across 47 counties, with 758 intern teachers being assigned to Kitui County, according to the commission’s job posting.

Primary school interns would be entitled to a monthly stipend of Ksh15,000, while junior secondary school students will receive Ksh20,000.

The internship will last for 12 months for the 2023–2024 fiscal year.

It targets unemployed registered teachers to be assigned to learning institutions where their teaching experience will be enhanced through mentorship, coaching, and exposure to practical teaching experience.
