Two students from Ramba Boys High School in Siaya County have died after falling into a septic tank
Two students from Ramba Boys High School in Siaya County have died after falling into a septic tank.
The tragic incident happened on Saturday, March 22 evening at around 6 PM.
Reports indicate that the two students were finalists and were standing on top of the septic tank when it collapsed and caved in trapping them.
Two other students who were also on top of the septic tank were rescued and rushed to hospital for medical attention however desperate efforts to rescue the other two proved futile.
The students had just returned from an AIDS awareness rally in a nearby center when the tragic incident happened.

Officers and first responders from the Kenya Red Cross were deployed to the scene and retrieved the bodies of the two students.
In a statement following the incident, Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo expressed grief over the death of the two students.
“Another tragedy! Saddened to learn two young boys at Ramba Boys High School have lost their lives after a septic tank collapsed! May their young souls snow peace, even as we continue investigating the circumstances,” Amollo stated.
The situation worried parents and guardians with children in the school, and a section of them took to social media to express their concerns.
