Police launch investigations after two men commit suicide at different locations in Machakos County.

In the first incident, a 63-year-old man died by suicide in Mwala, Machakos County.

According to the police report, Michael Wambua Makosi, a married father of three, reportedly ended his own life at Kithuiyani village in Mbiuni location, Mwala sub-county on Wednesday.

Mwala sub-county police commander Nancy Jerebon confirmed the incident after it was reported by a village manager.

“It was reported by a village manager that a member of his village had committed suicide by hanging himself with a sisal rope on a mango tree,” he said.

The police boss said a container of Ticpid acaricide poison was also recovered from the scene of the incident.

“The body with no visible marks except neck ligature marks. The body was taken to Machakos Level 5 hospital mortuary pending an autopsy,” Jerebon said.

The second incident happened in Matungulu subcounty where a 36-year-old man reportedly died by suicide on Tuesday.

Chris Musyoka’s body was found dangling from a tree at Misuuini village within Tala Township on the fateful day.

Matungulu subcounty police commander Peter Omondi said the deceased’s body was discovered hanging on an acacia tree having committed suicide on December 19.

“The body was moved to Patjud mortuary pending an autopsy,” Omondi told the Star by phone on Thursday.

Police have since launched investigation to establish the motive behind the two deaths.
