UDA extends registration deadline for grassroots elections in 22 counties
The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has extended the registration deadline for its upcoming Phase II ward-level grassroots elections in 22 counties across the country.
In a statement on Friday, May 30, the party’s National Elections Board announced the decision, aiming to provide more time for eligible participants to enroll.
“The National Elections Board of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) wishes to notify all Polling Center Committee Officials and eligible participants that the registration window for the upcoming Phase II Ward-level Grassroots Elections has been extended,” the statement read.
According to the revised timeline, registration will now close at midnight on June 6, 2025.
The extension is expected to boost participation and ensure adequate representation across the select counties.
“The revised registration period will now run until midnight on 6th June 2025, allowing more time for interested participants to complete the registration process and take part in this important democratic exercise,” the board added.

The grassroots elections will be conducted in several counties including Bungoma, Garissa, Isiolo, Kajiado, Kilifi, Kisiii, Kisumu, Kitui, Kwale and Lamu.
Others are Machakos, Mandera, Marsabit, Makueni, Migori, Mombasa, Nyamira, Siaya, Taita Taveta, Tana River, Turkana and Wajir.
UDA has urged all eligible participants and committee officials to take advantage of the extended registration period by signing up through the party’s website at www.uda.ke.
