UDA MP loses mother in a tragic road accident

Kitui East MP Nimrod Mbai is mourning the loss of his mother, Dorcas Kanini Mbai, who passed away on Sunday, July 20. 

In a statement, Mbai disclosed that his mother succumbed after being involved in a tragic road accident at Kithimani area along the Nairobi-Garissa Highway in Machakos County. 

“With a heavy heart, I share the heartbreaking news that I have lost my beloved mother, Dorcas Kanini Mbai, in a tragic road accident at Kithimani along the Nairobi-Garissa Highway in Machakos County.

“God, who gives, has taken away. Rest in peace, Mama. You were loved,” Mbai stated.

Mbai’s mother was travelling alongside two other people when the tragic accident occurred.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the vehicle plunged into the Yatta canal, and Mbai’s mother was stuck in the wreckage before she passed away.

The other two occupants were rushed to the hospital within Kithimani Township for medical attention.

Following the incident, Mwala MP Vincent Musyoka Kawaya sent a heartfelt message of condolence to Mbai and his family, expressing his sympathy following their loss.

“I am deeply saddened to learn of the sudden death of Dorcas Mbithuka, mother to Hon. Nimrod Mbai, Member of Parliament for Kitui East, through a road accident at Kithimani, along the busy Thika – Garissa highway. 

“I take this moment to convey my utmost condolences to her family and the entire people of Kitui East,” said Kawaya.
