UDA MP warns President Ruto about Raila

Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia has cautioned President William Ruto to be wary of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Gatundu North MP Elijah Njoroge Kururia has cautioned President William Ruto to be wary of ODM leader Raila Odinga.
In a statement on Sunday, July 27, Kururia claimed that recent remarks by Raila’s close allies indicate he may be quietly outmaneuvering President Ruto.
The UDA lawmaker urged President Ruto to exercise caution in his dealings with the former Prime Minister.
“Observing the utterances from CS John Mbadi, Edwin Sifuna, Babu Owino, James Orengo, and friends, Raila Odinga is playing William Samoei Ruto. Ruto, beware,” said the Kururia.
This comes after Raila defended Sifuna following his recent remarks on the broad-based government and the MoU between ODM and UDA.
Speaking in Kakamega on Friday, July 25, Raila said every ODM party member has the right to express their opinion.
The ODM leader noted that the party does not muzzle voices within the party, even when it involves challenging his own decisions.

“Everybody has a right to speak their mind. That is democracy, and that is what ODM stands for; there will be differences of opinion, and that is okay. If Sifuna has spoken, he has a right to do so, and if you differ with him, then speak out.
“I have not said that you should not speak of certain issues in the party. If you have an issue, speak up, even if you think I have made a mistake, tell me,” said Raila.
On Tuesday, July 22, Sifuna said removing President Ruto from office is a national priority agenda.
The ODM Secretary General argued that the Ruto administration has failed to respect the constitution and human rights.
“I hear Ruto has succeeded in bullying the people in opposition. He says they don’t have any agenda. I want William Ruto to know that his removal from office is a national priority agenda; it is the only agenda because his government is totally opposed to what the Constitution stands for,” Sifuna stated.
He also mentioned that the death of blogger and teacher Albert Ojwang in police custody brutality violated the foundation of the agreement between ODM and UDA.
