Uhuru Kenyatta engages a section of Ruiru residents in a rare phone call promising them Christmas goodies.

Former president Uhuru Kenyatta on Friday, December 22, engaged a section of Ruiru residents in a rare phone call as he pledged a fat Christmas cheque for them. 

The residents had gathered at the JCM Church headquarters headed by Pastor Benson Kiengei who also doubles up as a media personality.

The call was amplified with the residents excitedly and affirmatively responding to Uhuru who was speaking in vernacular.

He revealed he had been invited to the call by Kiengei who was seeking the help of other well-wishers in supporting poor households during the festivities.

“I hope you are all okay you people of Ruiru. Your pastor called and informed me he was hosting you for Christmas. he asked if I could chip in and I said I cannot forget my people. I told him I’ll give whatever little I have, and I pledged KSh 1 million to purchase foodstuff for you all. May you be blessed and have memorable festivities together with your children,” he said.

Uhuru further promised to join them at the church.
