Speculations over Uhuru-Raila secret meeting as the Azimio leader jets out of the country to the UK.

Raila’s trip to the United Kingdom has raised more questions over its timing.

The trip comes following Uhuru’s announcement that he will be spending a holiday in the same country together with his family.

After a confrontation with the current administration, Uhuru had in a meeting with editors indicated he would be taking a long desired vacation with his family.

Sources had earlier revealed that a section of the family members of the former president President Uhuru Kenyatta were traveling to London for a meeting on various issues.

Among the issues they wanted to consider is the relocation of some of their businesses over unfavorable political situation in Kenya.

Alternatively, they want to scale down some of their operations over what they see as a toxic environment.

Even though Uhuru confirmed the family plans a vacation, other sources said the meeting is key in making a number of decisions that could have serious implications for the economy.

And following Raila’s trip to the UK, speculation now arises on whether Raila and Uhuru could be meeting in the UK to assess ongoing political developments and strategize for their future engagements with President Ruto’s administration.

Denis Onyango, a spokesman for Raila, said that during the trip, the ODM leader would interact with friends, family, and business partners.

“He will also use his stay in the UK to rest and relax, which he doesn’t do enough back at home,” he said.

Nonetheless, only time will reveal the true nature and outcomes of the interactions.

Interestingly, speculations over the Uhuru-Raila meeting come after US Senator Chris Coons’ visit to Kenya that holds significant implications within the country’s political landscape.

The government and the opposition are engaged in bipartisan talks aimed at solving their differences and moving the country forward.

Of particular note is Coons’ role as a mediator in the 2018 “handshake” agreement between former President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga.

His presence now sparks controversy as talks between the government and the opposition are underway.

Many view Coons’ visit as a possible effort by the Western nations to facilitate another bipartisan resolution, this time between President William Ruto and Raila Odinga.
