Uhuru’s cousin Kungu Muigai lands state job

Musalia Mudavadi has appointed Captain (Rtd) Kungui Muigai to a state job as a member of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council.
Mudavadi in a Gazette notice dated January 24, appointed Muigai as a member of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council.
Muigai, who is a first cousin to former president Uhuru Kenyatta, will be serving in the role for a period of three years.
The appointment takes place with immediate effect.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 (1) of the Kenya Cultural Centre Act, the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, the Arts and Heritage, re-appoints— Kungu Muigai to be a member of the Kenya Cultural Centre Council, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 24 January, 24, 2025,” the Gazette notice reads.

Education CS Julius Ogamba appointed Francis Meja as a member of the Council of the Murang’a University of Technology, with effect from January 20, 2025.
Muigai in February last year called upon the residents of Mt Kenya to throw their support behind the Kwanza Kwanza administration.
Kung’u said that the government should be given ample time to deliver on its campaign promises.
“We should support the government instead of criticizing it daily and this is a clarion call to all Mount Kenya people and leaders,” he said.
“The government took power, and it is time for everyone now to do his job and others to wait for elections in 2027. That person who is telling you that the government can fall, governments don’t fall, even if it’s headed by a boy don’t play with it.”
