Uhuru’s Jubilee party alleges IEBC officials were involved on massive election rigging
Uhuru’s Jubilee party alleges IEBC officials were involved on massive election rigging reterating that Azimio will challenge the results.
Jubilee party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni has claimed that there was massive election rigging in just concluded elections done with the help of IEBC officials.
In an interview on Friday, Kioni reiterated that Azimio will file a petition at the Supreme court complete with evidence he says will allegedly show beyond all doubt that the results of the August 9 presidential contest were tampered with.
He criticized the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) for their suspected involvement in electoral fraud, even claiming that some of the electoral commission’s personnel conspired with political opponents to rig the polls.
“Azimio is still keen (on filing the petition). How do you allow that kind of theft to go on? We know how the votes were suppressed and our legal team is currently handling that but rest assured the petition will be in court,” Kioni said.
“We have gone through an electoral process that experienced rigging on an industrial scale, something that we have never seen since 1963. It is an embarrassment caused by the IEBC. If that rigging is not addressed by our courts of law, it makes no sense to go into any elections in future,” he said.
Uhuru’s Jubilee party through Kioni also thanked Kenyans for maintaining the peace after the IEBC announcement.
Kioni intimated that the 2017 handshake between outgoing President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga greatly contributed to peace and calm being witnessed in the country.
