Uhuru’s Jubilee party swept in Mt Kenya region but winning elsewhere

Uhuru’s Jubilee party candidates have been swept in Mt Kenya region but is winning seats in other regions in county.

Political parties fielded candidates in various constituencies, in a bid to clinch the majority seats in the National Assembly. 

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) of Deputy president William Ruto wave in Mount Kenya region has swept aside key allies of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Jubilee only won two seats, one in Meru and one in Nyandarua, as the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, led by Deputy President William Ruto, won the majority of the positions in the region.

According to reports, the coalition has won every governor position in Central Kenya and two in the Upper Eastern, in the counties of Embu and Tharaka Nithi.

Amos Kimunya, the leader of the majority in the National Assembly, lost his seat in Kipipiri, Kanini Kega, the dual director of elections for Jubilee, lost his seat in Kieni, and Party Secretary General Jeremiah Kioni was beaten in Ndaragwa.

Outgoing Nyeri senator Ephraim Maina was said to be trailing Mutahi Kahiga as was Nyeri Town MP Ngunjiri Wambugu, who is a strong defender of the ruling party.

Candidates who have won on Uhuru’s Jubilee party

As the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officers continue announcing the results of the Parliamentary elections, its seems Jubilee party is only winning seat outside Mt Kenya region.

Several candidates vying on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s party have registered victory.

Ruweida Mohamed Obo was announced the MP-elect of Lamu East constituency. 

Ruweida, garnered 5,498 votes against incumbent Sharif Athman Ali’s 4,633 votes.

Sirisia lawmaker John Waluke defended his seat on a Jubilee ticket. Waluke mustered 16,461 votes and was followed by Ford Kenya candidate Nasiuma Wafula who managed 8,811 votes.

Agnes Pareiyo clinched the Narok North parliamentary seat on the ruling party ticket. Pareiyo beat ODM’s Allan Meingati.

Stephen Mogaka of Jubilee won the West Mugirango parliamentary seat.
