US, Israel special forces tragically decimated as they tried to enter Gaza; Ex-Pentagon Adviser

Ex-Pentagon Adviser says US, and Israel special forces tried to enter Gaza to carry out reconnaissance but were 'shot to pieces'

Ex-Pentagon Adviser says US, and Israel special forces tried to enter Gaza to carry out reconnaissance but were ‘shot to pieces’.

Douglas MacGregor, former Pentagon Advisor stated that an American Special Force, accompanied by an Israeli Special Force, were tragically decimated when they attempted to investigate the location of the Israeli hostages in Gaza and were subsequently fired upon.

During an interview on an American TV channel, MacGregor stated that as it has been observed over the last 24 hours, American and Israeli special operations forces entered the Gaza Strip to carry out reconnaissance and assess potential ways for freeing the hostages, but they were attacked and suffered severe casualties.

He shared his belief that what happened was a natural progression and he did not see it as a victory for Israel in any way.

He also expressed his concern regarding the potential risks it presented for the Americans.

MacGregor stated that 2,000 Marines and 2,000 Special Forces soldiers promptly deployed to the region, but he believes this quantity will not have a significant effect.

MacGregor further argues that the US lacks a genuine military force.

The Pentagon had sent military advisers, including a Marine Corps general versed in urban warfare, to Israel to aid in its war planning and is speeding multiple sophisticated air defense systems to the Middle East days ahead of an anticipated ground assault into Gaza.

Israel is preparing a large-scale ground operation in an environment in which Hamas militants have had years to prepare tunnel networks and set traps throughout northern Gaza’s dense urban blocks.
