Ruto meets US delegates on Trade and Investments led by Ambassador Katherine Tai with Kuria missing.
President William Ruto on Wedneday, 19, July held talks with US Trade Advisor and Spokesperson, Ambassador Katherine Tai.
The discussions were based on the US trade policy.
In a statement, Ruto said that the country is ready to strengthen the already existing relations between the two nations.
“We will stretch our ties beyond The African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA) in the wake of advanced technology and climate change, for the full exploitation of our trade potential,” he said.
The President said trade between the two countries is key and has been beneficial.
“America is our key trade and investment partner. Under the AGOA, Kenya has developed its value chains, expanded and diversified its exports, creating thousands of employment opportunities,” he said on Wednesday.
The statement was accompanied by a photograph of President Ruto posing for a photo outside State House.

However, the Cabinet Secretary for Investment, Trade and Industry, Moses Kura was missing from the session.
The meeting comes after United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai had cancelled two scheduled meetings with Mr Kuria to discuss the trade ties between Kenya and the US.
Ambassador Tais had labelled CS Kuria an extremist because of his vulgar remarks against individuals and institutions.
Moses Kuria was barred from a meeting, the US-East Africa Community Trade and Investment Framework Agreement Council, after Ambassador Tai expressed reservations about his behaviour.
