A TikTok video has gone viral showing a man who claims to be the biological father of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
A TikTok video has gone viral showing a man who claims to be the biological father of Mumias East MP Peter Salasya.
In the clip, the man alleges that he left Salasya when he was only a few months old.
“I am the real father of Salasya. Let him come, let’s go for a DNA test. When the DNA is done, you will see I am his father,” the man says.
He further adds, “I left him when he was three years old. We were living in Busia, Nambale. I see Salasya is now a man, but I left him as a young child while we were in Nambale, and I was driving a car at that time.”
The man, who identifies himself as Mzee Shaban, challenges the legislator to trace him.
“Salasya, let him come and find me. My name is Mzee Shaban. Let him come; if he asks clearly, he will find me,” he states in the video.
The emergence of the video comes just weeks after Salasya launched his memoir, From Ashes I Soar, on August 2, 2025.
The book recounts his journey from humble beginnings in Western Kenya to becoming one of the youngest members of the 13th Parliament.

Salasya described the memoir as “a journey of resilience and triumph,” aimed at inspiring young Kenyans to pursue their dreams regardless of their backgrounds.
In the book, he reflects on his upbringing in Busia Nambale, recalling how his family lived in a modest home that lacked windows and proper ventilation.
He recounts how, at times, he had to sleep on the floor due to the absence of a bed.
The book launch at KICC was attended by friends, supporters, and political allies.
