Vincent Kompany is in talks to become Burnley’s manager after Anderlecht confirmed he is leaving the Belgian club.
The former Manchester City defender is keen to succeed Sean Dyche and return to the North West, where his family is from.
He will be tasked on returning Burnely to the premier league after relegation to Championship for the first time since 2015-2016.

Fabrizio Romano did confirm the return of Vincent Kompany to premier league as a couch.
He wrote;
“A Premier League legend will be tasked with getting Burnley back there.
Former Manchester City captain and Belgium international Vincent Kompany will be named Clarets manager as the team prepares for life in the Championship.”

Meanwhile, a statement from the Belgian side read: ‘The club and the coach have analyzed the past season and discussed the plans for the future.
‘The two parties have decided to part ways in mutual consent. This decision was taken with a lot of mutual respect and gratitude for everything that has been achieved together.
‘The club wishes Vincent Kompany all the best in his further career as a coach. He was, is and will remain an icon of the club and will always find a home at Royal Sporting Club Anderlecht.’
