Wajackoyah’s ‘Tingiza mti’ new phrase during manifesto launch wows Kenyans
Wajackoyah’s ‘Tingiza mti’ new phrase wows Kenyans during the manifesto launch on Thursday, 30, June.
The Roots party presidential candidate George Wajackoya unveiled his manifesto that has now sparked debate among Kenyans.
The launch took place at KICC, Nairobi; the same day UDA presidential candidate William Ruto was launching his manifesto.
Wajackoyah’s 10 point agenda
Dubbing them the ten commandments, Wajackoya said that upon his election as Kenya’s fifth president, his administration would;
- Legalize bhang
- Regularise Snake rearing
- Export dog meat
- Execute corrupt government officials in public.
- Shut down the Standard Gauge Railway (a symbol of Chinese colonization).
- Introduce a 4-day work week.
- Suspend parts of the constitution that do not work.
- Shift Kenya’s Capital from Nairobi to Isiolo since the Eastern town is more centrically located
- Creating 8 states which will be governed by their own federal governments.
- Deporting idle foreigners from Kenya.
The launch, however, took a comical turn after Wajckoya’s presentation of his manifesto was punctuated by his new signature phrase dubbed “Tingiza Mti”
Every moment he delivered his points, the phrase, which was apparently voiced by a woman, was played the moment he paused.
The phrase quickly gained popularity on social media and created a lot of attention.
The term elicited a range of responses from Kenyans, some of whom seemed impressed.
