Wanjigi claims masked men poured blood outside his gate

Jimi Wanjigi alleges continued harassment as masked men pour animal blood outside his gate
Jimi Wanjigi alleges continued harassment as masked men pour animal blood outside his gate.
Businessman and former presidential hopeful Jimi Wanjigi has claimed his life is in danger after unknown people allegedly poured blood near his gate on Saturday evening.
According to Wanjigi, a grey pickup drove to his gate and two masked men alighted and sprinkled the blood, before driving away.
“Pouring blood of an animal we don’t know outside my home, they are trying to tell me that they can spill my blood,” Wanjigi said on Sunday while addressing the press.
The businessman further said he is being followed every time he leaves his house, adding that a vehicle packed outside his house has jammed all signals, leaving him and his family unable to use their phones and even watch televison.
“For the last 27 days, a vehicle has been parked outside my gate, jamming the network. We cannot watch TV, we cannot use our phones. Every single day when I’m out on the road there are two cars that follow me. I go to a restaurant and they come there. The other day they blocked a car that they thought I was in. Last night the same vehicles poured blood,” Wanjigi further said.
He went bare knuckle at President William Ruto, accusing him of being behind his predicaments.

Wanjigi asserted that no intimidation will deter him from criticising his administration and demanding better governance.
“Oppressing us is not going to help you. We are not going to allow William Ruto to threaten us. William Ruto wants to take away our freedom. Your days are numbered. You have lost legitimacy. On 25th June 2024, Kenyans cast a clear vote of no confidence in Ruto’s government,” he said.
Wanjigi has been at loggerheads with the government, which accuses him of being behind the deadly Gen Z protests that saw protesters storm Parliament on June 25, to oppose the now-withdrawn Finance Bill 2024.
The businessman was tracked to his home by heavily armed police, who allegedly broke in and vandalized his house as they searched for him.
Wanjigi later presented himself to the DCI where he was held and later taken to court. He has since obtained a court order restraining police from harassing and arresting him.
