We have to find a position that accommodates Raila in government- UDA MP

Belgut MP Nelson Koech now says the Kenya Kwanza government will have to find a position that will accommodate Raila Odinga following his defeat in the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson election
Belgut MP Nelson Koech now says the Kenya Kwanza government will have to find a position that will accommodate Raila Odinga following his defeat in the African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson election.
Speaking on Monday, February 17 while appearing on Citizen TV’s Daybreak show, Koech said they will relook at the NADCO report to find a position for Raila.
The UDA MP noted that the former Prime Minister has a lot of experience and wisdom that will help the government in bettering the country.
“Raila Odinga is coming back home, what will he be doing with his energy, wisdom, and experience? I think we in Kenya Kwanza should accommodate that experience and counsel that he will give us and I think it will improve our country.
“We have to find a structure that will accommodate Raila, whichever position that accommodates him we have to find it. We could relook at the NADCO report,” said Koech.
In the AUC Chairperson election held on Saturday, February 15, Djibouti’s Foreign Minister, Mahamoud Ali Youssouf, emerged victorious over Raila and Madagascar’s Richard Randriamandrato.
Raila had won the first two rounds of voting but then went on to lose the next three rounds to Youssouf.

Speaking on Saturday night at a dinner in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Raila said President William Ruto did everything possible to support his campaign for the continental role.
“Ruto did everything possible for this campaign. He gave me all the logistical support I needed and made my appointments to meet all leaders on the continent,” Raila stated.
On his part, Ruto said he was disappointed with Raila’s loss noting that Africa lost an opportunity to be served by the former Prime Minister.
“I regret that Africa missed an opportunity to be served by the finest of our continent. But I am proud of Raila,” he said.
