What awaits Ruto’s Party as Uhuru is set to tour Mt Kenya, “the end of illusion politics is coming”

What awaits Ruto’s Party in Mt Kenya ahead of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s expected tour of the region.

Before President Uhuru Kenyatta’s scheduled tour of the region, Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui has warned Deputy President William Ruto and his United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party to brace for a significant exodus from the party, particularly in the Mount Kenya region.

The governor wrote a lengthy social media post warning that big surprises are coming and that the UDA brigade’s chest-thumping and overconfidence will be put to an end in the coming days.

Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui, who is backing Azimio Presidential candidate Raila Odinga, said many leaders who are ardent supporters of the DP are shifting camp slowly.

He divulged that Ruto’s camp is experiencing the toughest time yet in its bid to clinch the presidency in the August 9 polls.

Kinyanjui on What awaits Ruto’s Party in Mt Kenya

“To our brothers in the Mt Kenya region, the next few weeks will surprise many. After many years of bravado and chest thumbing, the ship is experiencing serious turbulence,” he said in a statement on Facebook on Saturday.

“Politics being a game of interest and personal survival, a mass exodus by political actors to align with these beacons is expected.”

“The yellow undercoat is gradually being replaced with the final coat of blue and red. This is not by default but by design,” he added.

“If you expose your final coat too early, it will be soiled before the D day. The end of illusion politics is coming.”

“For politicians, you are on your own, the herd mentality is a false comfort that will evaporate way before the election day,” he warned.

“The voter is the supreme authority and she has unique ways of asserting herself. Even when she acts dumb, always remember it is just a show.”
