Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, facing an imminent Senate trial following his impeachment by the National Assembly, has urged Kenyans to place their trust in God and remain united regardless of the outcome.
Speaking during a church service in Embu, Gachagua reassured the congregation that, despite the political storm, God is in control.
“All that is going on in Kenya, don’t worry. We are Christians, and we believe in God. Humans can plan many things, but God is in heaven. Keep praying for us, keep praying for our country,” Gachagua said.
The DP emphasised the importance of respecting the will of the people, highlighting the support he and President William Ruto received during the last elections.
“We were elected by many people. I don’t know if it is right for us to be dismissed by a few people,” he said. “You elected me and President Ruto, giving us your votes. We ask that the citizens’ decision be respected because they vote for five years.”

Expressing faith in the judiciary, Gachagua said he believes that the judges will uphold the constitution and the rule of law.
“Our Judiciary is very professional, and I have no doubt that our eminent judges will protect and uphold the constitution and always ensure that the will of the people is sovereign,” he said.
The Deputy President concluded his message with a call for peace and unity, urging Kenyans to remain calm and trust in the judicial process.
“The people of Kenya are very confident that our courts of law will protect and uphold our constitution. The people are supreme. If we follow that, we will have a good country,” Gachagua affirmed.
