Oburu Odinga reveals why Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga missed the burial of General Francis Ogolla.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta was conspicuously missing during the burial ceremony of Chief of Defence Forces Francis Ogolla held in Siaya County on Sunday, April 20.
Uhuru had also missed a memorial service for the late General which was held at Ulinzi Sports Complex, Lang’ata on Saturday.
This was despite Ogolla having served as Deputy Commander of the Kenya Air Force, Commander of the Kenya Air Force, and Vice Chief of Defence Forces during Uhuru’s tenure.
However, speaking during the burial ceremony, Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga explained that Uhuru missed the burial as he had engaged in matters outside the country.
The Siaya Senator further revealed that Azimio Leader Raila Odinga could not attend the funeral since he was indisposed.

Notably, Raila Odinga was present during the memorial service which was held at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Lang’ata.
“I stand here on behalf of the late Jaramogi Oginga Odinga family whom I represent. I bring the condolences of my brother Raila Odinga who sent me. He is a bit indisposed therefore he would not come personally,” said Oburu.
“I also want to bring condolences of former president Uhuru Kenyatta. He’s out of the country and thus asked me to represent him,” added Oburu.
Ogolla died in a tragic KDF chopper crash on April 18 in Elgeyo Marakwet county.
He died alongside nine other military personnel who were in his company during his working tour of the North Rift region.
