A middle-aged woman has been lynched by an angry mob over alleged theft of a one-and-a-half-year-old child in Sindo Town, Suba South, Homa Bay County.
The deceased, identified as Jane Atieno, met the wrath of the mob after she allegedly stole the child and gave her to a motorbike rider to escape with.
It is reported that she stole the baby when she went to the child’s mother’s home to buy logs of wood for cooking.
The baby’s mother only later realized that the child had disappeared, and when she asked Jane whether she had seen her, she denied any knowledge of the child’s whereabouts.
